An electron is a negatively charged particle located in different orbits around the nucleus. The number of electrons in different atoms is different. The number of electrons in the outermost orbit of an atom is called the balance electron. There can be no more than 8 electrons in the outer orbit of an atom. The formula for the electron configuration of an atom in orbit is E = 2n 2 . Here n determines the number of orbits.
Under normal conditions, the number of protons and electrons in an atom of any substance is equal, so the substance is inert or electrically neutral. But whenever an external force is applied to matter, resulting in the removal of free electrons from the atom, the matter is charged with a positive charge because the inert atom is dominated by proton particles. Similarly, when an electron comes from an atom and joins a new atom, a negative charge is created in that atom. These extra electrons can flow with the help of energy. This type of electron flow in matter is called electricity.
